Today, I’m going to talk about an issue I had with my Dahua NKB1000 network camera, and how to fix it if you run into this problem with your cameras as well. This is what the camera looks like: The first thing I did when I bought these cameras was to connect them to my computer and try out the Config Tool program that they included in the CD that came with the camera. But when I tried to load up the program on my computer, it wasn’t working… so now what?

This article will cover steps to solve the issue if dahua nkb1000 not showing in config tool. This issue can be solved without hiring an expert in dahua or any camera.

How to fix the Dahua NKB1000 camera not showing up in Config Tool

  • Update the software
  • Use a different network cable
  • Reboot the DVR
  • Reboot the Camera
  • Reset all settings on your DVR

Update the software

One way you can fix your problematic recording device is by updating its software. The first step is finding out whether your recording device supports firmware updates. You can usually find a model’s information in one of two places: on its front or back, or by looking through your configuration tool program’s settings under your camera settings. Once you know whether or not your recording device will update, follow these steps:

  1. Download and unzip new firmware
  2. Copy firmware files onto an SD card
  3. Insert the SD card into the appropriate slot on the device
  4. Turn the unit off and then back on while holding down the setup button
  5. Release the setup button when the display changes and select Yes to perform the update

Use a different network cable

If you can’t see your camera at all, try using a different network cable—one that’s known to be working. Sometimes, if there’s a problem with one network connection, another will work fine. If a different cable doesn’t help, then troubleshoot further: Check power outlets and cables, and try switching ports on your router or computer. Have no idea what you’re doing? Restart your router: If you still can’t see your camera after trying a new network cable, try restarting your router by unplugging it from its power source for 30 seconds. This usually fixes most internet connectivity issues; however, if it doesn’t solve yours, it might be time to call an expert.

Reboot the DVR

Restarting your DVR might seem like a simple solution to dahua nkb1000 not showing in config tool, but you may be surprised to learn that restarting your DVR is one of the most common solutions for fixing major issues. Typically, restarting your DVR means unplugging it and waiting 60 seconds before plugging it back in. Wait until your DVR powers on fully before powering on any other devices. If you are still having problems after trying a full reboot, contact our 24/7 support center and we’ll get you back online as quickly as possible.

Reboot the Camera

The problem with your dahua nkb1000 might have been as simple as a reboot. If you haven’t tried that yet, give it a shot. Make sure you are going into Device Manager and looking for specific errors (if any exist). If you can’t see anything obviously wrong, try rebooting your computer and unplugging/plugging back in your camera while it is still off. Give it a try and see if that fixes things.

Reset all settings on your DVR (only if everything else fails and you still don’t see it)

Power cycle your DVR by unplugging it, waiting 30 seconds, and plugging it back into power. When done properly you will see a green light on your DVR. Next, go into your router settings (typically 192.168.1.1 or 10.0.0.1) and reset your router to factory defaults (you’ll usually find these options under WAN Setup or Router Management). Then, power cycle your DVR by unplugging it for another 30 seconds and plugging it back in again so that it sees all of your cameras once more with new settings/IP addresses as necessary (if you’re using motion detection zones make sure they get re-setup too). If none of that works… time for new ethernet cables!
